Delete your account
Margin Planner LLC · Margin: Homeschool Planner
You can delete your Margin account yourself, at any time, without
asking us. It takes about thirty seconds and nothing is held back.
The short version
- In the app: More, then Delete my account.
- On the website: sign in at marginplanner.com, go to Your account,
then Delete my account.
- Or write to us at hello@marginplanner.com from the address on the
account, and a person will do it for you.
Do it in the app
- Open Margin and sign in.
- Tap More at the bottom right.
- Scroll to the end and tap Delete my account.
- Type your password to confirm.
Do it on the website
- Go to marginplanner.com/sign-in and sign in.
- Open Your account.
- Scroll to the end and choose Delete my account.
- Type your password to confirm.
Ask us to do it
If you cannot sign in, write to hello@marginplanner.com
from the email address on the account and say you want it deleted. A person answers,
and we do it within seven days.
What is deleted
Everything. When the account goes, so does all of this, straight away and for good:
- Your name, your email address and your password.
- Every school year you planned, and every lesson, book and record in it.
- Your children's names or nicknames, and everything you ever typed about them.
- Chores, notes, reading lists, library books and grades.
- Your calendar feed link, which stops working immediately.
- Any second parent you invited, and their access.
If you have a paid subscription, we cancel it before we delete anything, so you
are never charged again.
Delete part of it, and keep your account
You do not have to close the whole account to remove something. Signed in,
on the website or in the app, you can:
- Remove a child, and everything planned for them goes with it.
- Remove a book and its lessons.
- Delete a whole school year.
- Clear chores, notes, reading lists and library books one at a time.
Anything you remove this way is gone from our server straight away. If you
want something removed and cannot find where, write to
hello@marginplanner.com and a
person will do it.
What is kept, and for how long
Two things survive, and only because the law requires it:
- Payment records. Stripe, who handles our payments, keeps a record of
what was charged and when. We never see or hold your card number. Stripe keeps
these for as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically seven years.
- Server logs. Ordinary web logs with no name, no email and nothing from
your planner in them. These are overwritten within thirty days.
Nothing else is kept. There is no archive, no backup copy we hold on to, and no
soft delete that quietly keeps your year for a while.
Take your year with you first
Deleting cannot be undone, so export first if you want to keep anything. From
Your account you can download every year you planned, and you can print your
records. Do that before you delete, not after.
A person, if you would rather
Write to hello@marginplanner.com.
A real person reads it and answers.
