Use pictures for a child who cannot read yet
The drawing grows, takes her color, and the word sits small underneath it. You turn this on for one child at a time.
The steps
- Press the Chores tab and scroll down to the list under Add a chore.
- Find the child's name above her chores.
- Check Show pictures beside it.
Use pictures for a child who cannot read yet. No sound. The words are on the screen.
What to know
Every chore already has a small gray drawing on the chart. Turning this on makes it big, puts it in the child's color, and moves the word underneath it.
It is one child at a time on purpose. A child who reads keeps her words first, and her little brother gets the picture first.
The word stays under the picture rather than being replaced by it, so the picture teaches the word.
These are line drawings in the child's color rather than emoji. Emoji look different on every phone and they print badly.
The list under the chart shows the drawing too, and it gives you a picker for it. Chores on the calendar keep their words.
