Add a child after the year has started
The Setup tab takes a new child into a year that is already running, and their lessons start from the day you add them.
The steps
- Press the Setup tab.
- Open Add or remove a child.
- Type a Name and pick a Grade.
- Press + Add child.
- Give them their subjects in the drawer Margin opens for you.

What to know
Their lessons are laid out from the day you add them rather than from your first day, so a child who joins in October is never shown as behind on work she was not here for.
Margin opens the subject drawer with the new child already chosen. A child with no subjects sits on every count and every printed record with nothing to do all year.
You do not have to start the year over to do this. Starting over erases the year, and until October that was the only way in.
Two children cannot share a name. Margin says so rather than adding a second one quietly.
