Set the password on a shared link
Type any password of eight characters or more, or press Suggest one and Margin writes a memorable one for you.
The steps
- Press Share a link on The Year.
- Type a password into the Password box.
- Press Suggest one if you would rather Margin wrote it.
- Press Make the link.

What to know
Eight characters is the floor. Margin refuses to make the link and tells you so rather than making a weak one quietly.
The password is what unlocks the days inside the link. Without it the link is a page asking for a password and nothing else.
Send it a different way than the link. Text the link and say the password on the phone.
Copy the password sits beside Copy the link once the link is made, so you can paste each into its own message.
