I already wrote about giving up my paper planner, and about the five digital ones I tried before we built our own. This is the other half of that.
When we were building Margin, my husband and I sat down in September and read the feature pages of six other homeschool planners, all the way through.
Not one of them lays out your year for you.
They're good at holding a year. You type in Monday's math and there it sits on Monday, and it looks lovely. But you decided it goes on Monday, and you're the one who has to decide all over again in October when the stomach bug takes a week.
A planner that built your year in August can build it again in November. One you filled in by hand, you fill in by hand again.
We make Margin, so read our comparison with that in mind. We put in the places the other planners beat us, too.
The two pages
Seven homeschool planners, side by side
Price, what each one does, and the ten things we could not find on anybody else's feature page.
Homeschool Planet is the one most people are weighing Margin against, so those two get a page of their own.
