Put an assignment under a subject

A subject on an assignment is what lands it in the right place on the Report at the end of the year.

The steps

  1. Press the Assignments tab.
  2. Choose a name under Subject in the form at the top.
  3. Press + Add this assignment.
  4. Choose No subject in the row to take it back off.

Put an assignment under a subject. No sound. The words are on the screen.

What to know

The list holds the subjects you already teach, so a book report goes under the same Reading your lessons go under.
A row only shows you a Subject box once the work already carries a subject, or once you have turned grading on. That is why the place to name one is the form at the top, and it is also why choosing No subject takes the box away along with the subject. Nothing is broken, and the form at the top will give the work a subject again.
A subject is optional. Plenty of work belongs to nothing in particular, and Margin does not push you to invent a home for it.
You can add a subject from this list without leaving the page, so naming one does not cost you the form you are filling in.
