Mark a book as mastery based

Some books are not one lesson a day. You stay on a lesson until the child has it. Margin shows one lesson and waits for you instead of filling the week ahead.

The steps

  1. On the Setup tab, read the three choices at the top of the Subjects card.
  2. Pick Mastery based if every book works that way, or Both if only some of them do.
  3. Press edit on the book that is mastery based.
  4. Under How this book is paced, pick the mastery choice.
  5. Press Save changes.

Mark a book as mastery based. No sound. The words are on the screen.

What to know

A mastery book shows one lesson on today and on the days behind you, and nothing at all ahead of you. The next lesson appears when you say she has this one.
The three choices are on the Setup tab as well as inside the wizard, so a family who answered wrong on their first evening can fix it without starting over.
Going back to One lesson per school day is the one change that takes something away, so Margin names the books it affects and asks first. The dates you marked mastered are kept either way, in case you switch back.
Margin already knows which books in the shared library are mastery books, so picking Math-U-See or All About Reading sets the choice for you and says why.
