Photograph your memory work sheet
Take a picture of the handout instead of typing it. Margin keeps the verses and leaves the headings out.
The steps
- On the Memory Work tab, open Paste a year of items.
- Choose the list under Into which category.
- Press Upload a photo or a PDF and pick your picture of the sheet.
- Read the lines Margin put in the box and fix anything that came out wrong.
- Press the + Add button underneath.
Photograph your memory work sheet. No sound. The words are on the screen.
What to know
The picture is read here on your own device. It is never sent anywhere.
A sheet like this is mostly not memory work. The title, the season, the days of the week and the little box of house rules are all on it too, and Margin leaves those out. It tells you how many lines it left and why, so the decision stays yours.
It knows a heading by its capitals, and only on a sheet where the capitals are the exception. A spelling list printed entirely in capitals keeps every word.
When the sheet is laid out week by week, Margin takes the week off the front of each line. It already works out when each item comes round from the week your category starts.
A list you typed yourself is never filtered. This only happens to what a camera or a PDF brought in, because throwing away a line you wrote on purpose would be worse than leaving in one you can delete.
A PDF works here too. One your computer made carries its own text and is read exactly. One somebody scanned is a picture, so it is read the way a photograph is.
