Add your library books
Put in how many books you checked out and the day they go back. Margin reminds you before they are late.
The steps
- Press the Books tab. The Library books card is at the top.
- Type How many you checked out.
- Set Due back.
- Add A note, if you want one for the one book you are afraid of losing.
- Press + Add these books.
Add your library books. No sound. The words are on the screen.
What to know
A library stack is a count and a date, never a list of titles. Five picture books somebody grabbed on a Tuesday do not belong in the year's reading record, and typing five titles at the counter while holding a toddler is more than anybody will do twice.
Library books stay off the reading list and off everything you print. Paper cannot be renewed, so a stale books due note on the fridge is worse than no note at all.
The strip above the calendar on The Year shows a stack only when it is late, due today, or due tomorrow. A strip that is always there stops being read, and reminding you is the only job it has.
On a phone
In the app Margin can raise a reminder the evening before a stack goes back. Turn on Library books under Reminders on the Setup tab.
