Say who is reading a book
A book can belong to one child, to two, or to the whole family. Read-alouds usually belong to everybody.
The steps
- On the Books tab, press edit at the end of the book's row.
- Under Who is reading it, check each child who is reading it.
- Leave every box unchecked to give the book to the whole family.
- Press Save changes.
Say who is reading a book. No sound. The words are on the screen.
What to know
An unchecked row is not an empty row. Checking nobody means everybody, so a read-aloud needs no boxes at all.
Who is reading it decides whose report the book lands on at the end of the year, and which child's name sits on the reading line in the calendar.
When two children read the same book, each one gets a row of chapter circles on the calendar, so a slower reader is never carried past something she has not read.
