Split the year into two semesters
Check Split the year into a fall and a spring semester under Report cards, then give Margin your own four dates.
The steps
- Press the Setup tab.
- Open Report cards and make sure grades are on.
- Check Split the year into a fall and a spring semester.
- Change Fall starts, Fall ends, Spring starts and Spring ends to your own dates.
Split the year into two semesters. No sound. The words are on the screen.
What to know
Margin suggests a split halfway through your year, and all four dates are yours to change. It does not guess at when your family breaks for Christmas.
A Covering box joins Print a report card once the year is split, so you can print the fall on its own.
Leave the box unchecked and you have one long year, which is what most families want.
This question only exists while grades are on. A year with no grades has nothing to divide.
